An absolutely crazy and frightening video was taken by a cell phone of a man jumping off an I-10 bridge during a traffic jam that lasted for hours.

The man in the video below is Jimmy Jennings. He decided to jump off the Atchafalaya Basin bridge Friday after traffic was gridlocked for hours after a 10-car pileup.

Jennings told WWL that he hurt his shoulder on impact with the water and that the current of the river was so strong he couldn't swim to the bank. He had to swim for about three hours before Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents and the St. Martin Sheriff's Office deputies were able to locate him. Jennings was arrested after he was rescued.

Jennings reportedly posted on Facebook later that jumping off the bridge was a bad decision and he knows that the only reason he is alive today is his faith and the rescuers.
