As previously reported, Friday, April 1, 2022, KPLC-TV meteorologist Ben Terry, told the Sunrise crew and viewing audience that he was going to take a little time off. He said that his cancer had returned and it was aggressive so his doctors at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas wanted to respond with equally aggressive treatment.

Terry explained that the new chemo treatment was going to be extra tough, adding that he was glad he had so much support from family, friends, and all of the wonderful viewers in SWLA.

In addition, the beloved meteorologist said that he has excellent doctors and nurses looking after him at M.D. Anderson. That of course is also a big plus. Below is an update on how he is doing.

The Weatherman remains in high spirits and is taking his battle against cancer head-on. He said that he has no intention of leaving KPLC-TV, he is just stepping away to put all of his energy and focus on getting better. You are Lake Charles strong Ben, keep on fighting! We are your prayer warriors in SWLA and lifting you up. You got this!

As we all know medical treatment of any kind these days is expensive, with or without medical insurance. However, cancer treatment is astronomically high. Bridget Boudreaux is currently organizing a GoFundMe fundraiser on behalf of the Meteorologist to help ease costs for him and his family.
