Men Of God Present ‘Live In Peace’ A Youth Outreach Event
Who is responsible for public safety? What should we expect from the police and city officials? And what does it mean to invest in safety beyond policing? All of us are responsible for public safety actually. The authorities and city officials are responsible for upholding the law and responding to violent incidents, but many times are pulled in other directions of enforcement like de-escalating discipline issues at schools or treating overdoses that they can only do so much.
As it takes a village to raise a child, it takes the community to work together to envoke social change. A group of 45+ men of God from the community are looking to make a difference and are committed to addressing the rising cases of violence in the Lake Area. The public is invited to the Live In Peace Youth Outreach community event this Saturday, June 4 at Goosport Park (1619 Cessford Street) starting at 4 pm. This is a concerted effort to bring the community together, find solutions and work towards ways to stop the violence that has plagued the city for the last few years.
Come out and show your support. Enjoy fellowship and live music by Gospel rapper Gamfam & Friends, free food, and refreshments. Let's come together to end the violence so we all can enjoy safe neighborhoods and a peaceful community.
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. - Romans 12:18
