
Nine New Padel Courts Are Being Built In The City Of Austin
Sports are a mainstay here in the state of Texas. Everyone has their favorite one, from basketball to hockey. But there's always a sport on the rise, and for the city of Austin, it might be Padel.
First Things First, What Exactly Is Padel?
To find out, we turn to the Austin Business Journal. Per the news organization, the sport first came to prominence in the country of Mexico in the year of 1969. The sport is described as a combination of squash and tennis, with many loving it in Europe.

Now, it's jumped across the pond, with the United States seeing some growth of the sport here too. So, it makes sense for it to keep growing, people will need to be able to play it right? But where in Austin could one play this sport?

Soon, some in Austin will be able to partake in a game of Padel.
Where Will The Padel Center In Austin Be Built?
According to the Austin Business Journal, the building will be in Sheldon Cove. It will contain six indoor courts to play on, as well as three outdoor courts. Other amenities will be available as well.
But, why Austin, Texas of all places? Well, Van Veggel of VX Capital Group said simply:
“Padel is in its infancy stage, but (Austin) is just like a natural city where padel will just keep growing, and racket sports are big, so it just made sense."
