LOUISIANA, La. (KPEL News) - Another week, another recall to tell you about. This one covers a popular detergent that many of us use if we have sensitivities or clothing items that are a little more delicate than most.

If you recently purchased Woolite Delicates detergent, it may be part of a nationwide recall. Manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser LLC has voluntarily recalled 16,200 bottles of the product due to potential contamination with harmful bacteria.

The affected bottles were sold exclusively on Amazon.com in January 2025 and include the 50-fluid ounce size of Woolite Delicates (SKU 62338-72724). The impacted lot codes are S24364, S24365, and S24366, found at the top of the back label.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the detergent may be contaminated with Pseudomonas species, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, a bacteria commonly found in soil and water. While healthy individuals are generally not affected, those with weakened immune systems or using external medical devices could face a serious risk of infection.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported as of now, but Reckitt is urging all customers to stop using the product immediately.

What You Should Do:

To receive a full refund, follow these steps:

  • Write your name and the word “Recalled” on the back of the bottle with a permanent marker.
  • Take a photo showing the UPC and lot code.
  • Email the photo to ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com.
  • Once your refund is confirmed, seal the bottle and dispose of it in household trash. Do not pour it out or recycle the container.

The recalled bottles are white with a light pink label and cap.

For more details, visit www.woolite.us/Voluntary-Recall or contact Reckitt at 800-228-4722, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

This recall is part of a Fast Track process coordinated with the CPSC to ensure consumer safety and remove potentially hazardous products from the market quickly.
