Protect Your Family With Free Severe Weather Training in Shreveport
Living in northwest Louisiana comes with its own share of challenges and Mother Nature seems to be at the root of most of those curve balls.

From droughts and heat related issues, to severe thunderstorms with downed trees and powerlines, we get just about the full gamut of extreme weather events.
There are the occasional ice storms and snow events, to the brutal winds of tornadoes and high waters of floods, so we need to constantly be aware of what's at risk, and to have an emergency plan for when such a crisis strikes.

That's exactly why the upcoming class from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and the National Weather Service is such an incredible idea.
The real question around is not "if" we'll have another extreme weather event, it's "when" and "how bad." And for those unprepared, even the slightest emergency can prove disastrous.
It will be held next Saturday, October 24, from 10am to 12pm at Sheriff's Safety Town, at 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.
Those attending will learn from the National Weather Service what safety measures should be taken during severe weather including flooding and tornadoes.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness will lead a class covering disaster kits, emergency planning, and active shooter awareness.
And all of this possible life-saving instruction will come at no cost. The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
For any additional information or questions you might have, contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.
