What To Know Before The 2023 Louisiana High School Football State Championships
The 2023 Louisiana High School Football season is down to State Championship weekend. The Prep Classic for the LHSAA takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Caesars Superdome and it is a three-day affair starting on Thursday.
The Division IV Championship Games, Riverside Academy vs Southern Lab and Haynesville vs Oak Grove will be played on Thursday, with the Select Championship Game at 3:30 p.m. followed by the Non-Select Title Game at 7 p.m.
On Friday, the Division II non-select title game between Opelousas and Cecilia starts the schedule at noon, followed by the Division III non-select game between Union Parish and St. James at 3:30 and the Division I select matchup between Acadiana and Catholic BR at approximately 7 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule begins with the D-II select championship game, Lafayette Christian vs St. Thomas More at noon. The Division III select title game follows at 3:30 between Calvary Baptist, with the Division I non-select matchup Zachary and Ruston rounding out the Prep Classic at 7 p.m.
If you'd like to purchase tickets, you can do so below. Fans may purchase tickets online through Ticketmaster for $25 per person or $30 per person at the Caesars Superdome ticket office on the day of each game. Each day’s ticket is good for all games. Please note that there is no in-and-out or re-entry. All children 2 years old and above will need a ticket to enter the Superdome.
If you are interested in attending any of the games at the 2023 Prep Classic, you will need to be prepared to use the Superdome's Clear Bag Policy.
Caesars Superdome has instituted a clear bag policy for its facilities. Please note the following when planning to attend this weekend’s event:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags are available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com)
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, 6.5″ x 4.5″, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
- Clear backpacks and clear fanny packs are not permitted. Non-clear diaper bags are prohibited. A clear diaper bag (no larger than 12″x6″x12″) is permitted.
- Additionally, the following items are also prohibited: animals (except service dogs), banners (large or in poor taste), containers of any kind, contraband, glass, laser pointers, noisemakers, outside food and drink, projectiles, sticks, bats, poles or clubs, video and audio recording devices, weapons, cameras with a lens over 6 inches, and any other item deemed inappropriate by management.
