There has been an interesting relationship between the Voodoo and the Event Center officials since the beginning of the process. It was even reported a few months ago that the Voodoo could call two arenas home, some games here in Lake Charles and some in Kinder. It looks like they will be moving away from the area as a whole..

The Arena Football League was founded back in 1987 and was a four-team league. The four teams were the Pittsburgh Gladiators, Denver Dynamite, Washington Commandos, and the Chicago Bruisers. The league was shut down several years back after it had expanded.

It is being reported by KLFY in Lafayette that the Louisiana Voodoo will no longer be calling Lake Charles home. The Voodoo will now play its games inside of the  Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette.

Here is what was said in the report from KLFY...

New 10 Sports learned late Thursday night, from Louisiana Voodoo team officials that the team would be moving from Lake Charles to Lafayette.

Moments before air, it was confirmed through multiple sources that Voodoo, a new Arena Football Team, will play their games at Blackham Coliseum.

Sources tell me, that the main reason for the switch of the city is the inability to work with the management group ASM. ASM runs the Lake Charles Civic Center, and one official told me, “It’s been a nightmare!”
