Gas Prices Across the Country & State

Drivers in Louisiana are actually seeing a small break at the gas pump this week, with prices falling across the state. According to the latest AAA data, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Louisiana is now $3.56. That is down from $3.66 one week ago, but it is still much higher than this time last year, when the average was about $2.76 per gallon.

Prices have also dropped in the Lake Charles area. The current average for regular gas is $3.69 per gallon, down from $3.75 a week ago. While prices are lower than they were a week ago, they remain well above last year's levels. The average price for regular gas in Louisiana is about 80 cents higher than it was one year ago. The Lake Charles area is seeing a similar trend. Regular gas is currently about 91 cents more per gallon than it was at this time last year, when the average was $2.79.
