The 104th annual Cal-Cam Fair is returning to Sulphur September 4th through 6th, 2026, continuing a celebration that dates back to 1922. The fair has spent more than a century bringing people from Calcasieu and Cameron parishes together for food, entertainment, competition, and plenty of family memories.

Today, the fair takes place at the West Cal Arena & Events Center at 401 Arena Road in Sulphur, where visitors can experience a mix of classic fair attractions and events rooted in the area's agricultural heritage.

Interesting Facts About the History Of The Cal-Cam Fair

  • The Cal-Cam Fair dates back to 1922
  • The fair wasn't always in Sulphur. It originally began in Lake Charles before moving to Sulphur in 1924.
  • The fair has had several permanent homes. It eventually moved to a rodeo arena on Willow Street, then to Highway 27 in 1949, where it remained for 64 years.
  • In 2014, the Fair moved to the West Cal Arena.

There will be plenty happening throughout fair weekend, including carnival rides, livestock competitions, live entertainment, bingo, the Invitational Bull Fight and Mutton Bustin'. Local youth also have opportunities to showcase their hard work through the livestock shows and other competitions.

The bullfight has become one of the fair's popular attractions since being added in 2018, while the event continues to feature entertainment and activities designed to bring the entire family together.
